The history of our city is distinctly stamped by the sea. With humpback whales swimming in the bay and an abundance of several salmon species, it is no wonder the sea has contributed to the health and wealth of the local community.
To celebrate our connection to the ocean, we hold the annual event of Seafest.
Seafest takes place on the weekend of Friday, June 9th to Sunday, June 11th. This year’s Seafest involves a theme of red and white to celebrate the 150 years of Canada, so you can be sure this is going to be a Seafest to remember.
Visitors experience the North Coast lifestyle with many exhilarating waterfront events, including quick and daring races Sailpast, Flypast, Swim for Survival, and kayak races. People come from all over the world to participate in these events, and locals and visitors cheer each other on as men and women test their skills in the water.
There are bands, parades, concerts, food artisans, artists and all kinds of fun and games, come join us and see how we celebrate the end of winter in the Canadian North-West.
